Interesting Topics

Though I have spent many years working for IT, there are many interesting topics I got exposure to thru this class.

WordPress

I am new to blogging and it is amazing to see how easy it is to build a blogging website.  WordPress helps to design the home page as elegantly as possible. Also, it is very easy and consumes less time.  Need to follow very simple steps to create blogs and we can use various features like images, tables and plugins like Paypal based on your blogging goal.

Data Modeling

In my job role, I never had to create data model, but I always had data architect team who delivers data model. But in this class, I learned all basics about data modeling. The class assignments helped to understand the business requirement and break that into entities. Also learned how to define attributes and work on the relationship between entities. Cardinalities are bit hard to understand but the tricks we learned in class made me feel very comfortable to decide on the cardinality.

Tableau

Though I have great experience working with Microsoft Power BI, learning Tableau gave different perspective. Tableau seems to be very user friendly and intuitive. Tableau’s graphical engine (stunning data visualization) seems to be much better than any other reporting tools. Export feature to pdf and powerpoint is very helpful to communicate the story to executives

SAP

I have used oracle ERP as source system to collect data into ODS. But the extensive training on SAP helped me to have a hold on business processes particularly customer master data, sales orders, purchase orders, invoice and material movement. Since SAP is quite popular, seems we have great online community who can help to resolve any questions we have related to SAP.
